The computer ID contains 12 characters. Characters are hexadecimal (0-9 and A-F) and not case-sensitive. To find the computer ID (also called the MAC address or physical address), follow the steps outlined below:
- On the lower left of the screen, choose the Windows start button.
- In the Search programs and files field, enter CMD (not case-sensitive) to bring up the black DOS screen.
- Enter the command ipconfig/all.
- Please be sure to scroll through the entire screen and record all the physical addresses found, except for those belonging to the tunnel adapters. There can be multiple physical addresses for a workstation.
