Answer

Instead of a number, sometimes MultiQuant™ software returns a non-numerical result in the results table. The meaning of these "worded" results are listed below:

No root – Result received for a quadratic fit when the measured y-value for an analyte is larger than the top of an up-side down parabola

Two roots – Result received for a quadratic fit when there are two possible intersections

N/A – Result received when the sample did not integrate

<0 – Result received when a negative area is calculated (should only happen below the LOQ)

Degenerate – Result received when there are not enough standards (for example less than 3 for a quadratic fit or 2 for linear)

Neg. x – Result received when x <= 0, cannot calculate log value

Neg. y –  Result received when y <= 0, cannot calculate log value

Bad weight – Result received if the weight of an (x, y) coordinate is <= 0

X points – Result received for x if the number of (x, y) points is less than the min requirement

Neg. weight – Result received if the weight is <= 0
