Are the Ion Sources Interchangeable Between the QTRAP® and TripleQuad™ 6500+ and 7500 Systems?

Answer

The ion sources for the SCIEX QTRAP® and TripleQuad™ 6500+ and 7500 LC-MS/MS Systems are not interchangeable. The OptiFlow® Pro Ion Source was built with extensibility in mind and has different connections to the QTRAP and TripleQuad 7500 Systems in comparison to those for the QTRAP and TripleQuad 6500+ Systems. Therefore, the OptiFlow Pro Ion Source cannot be used on the QTRAP or TripleQuad 6500+ Systems.

Likewise, the IonDrive™ Turbo V, Turbo V™, and OptiFlow Ion Sources cannot be used with the QTRAP and TripleQuad 7500 Systems.
