Issue Description

When opening a file or creating a new results table in MultiQuant™ software, users may receive the message: "Fatal Error: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. Do you want to see debug information for reporting the problem?"

Resolution

One solution for this issue is to run a drive check on the drive where the Analyst Data folder is located (typically the D drive for acquisition PCs). Right click on the drive and select Properties.

In the Tools tab and select Check under the Error checking option to run a drive check. Once the drive check is complete, retry opening the file that originally generated the error in MultiQuant software.

The issue can occur if the Analyst Data folder has too many files. Ideally, Analyst Data will only be 1 GB in size. If it is larger than 1 GB, data that is not actively being used should be archived in another location.

If the error message continues to appear, a service call must be opened to replace the drives.
