Answer

By default, the Windows Task Scheduler runs the System Restore task when the computer starts. The SCIEX OS software 2.1.6 installer disables the System Restore task to optimize acquisition performance of the application in IDA mode. The System Restore service might slow down the system when active, especially during acquisition IDA mode, when the cycle time might be longer, increasing from milliseconds to seconds.  This might result in fewer points across a chromatographic peak.  Therefore, we recommend that System Restore be disabled for optimum performance.
