Diverter Valve Would Not Work While Using Delay Time in Analyst® Software

Issue Description

The diverter valve will not work properly when using Delay Time in the acquisition method of Analyst® Software due to a mismatch between diverter valve timing and MS acquisition timing.

For instance, consider the total acquisition method time to be 5 min, and the valve is switched at 3 and 5 min. If the method is using a 3 min delay time in the acquisition method, this would result in a MS running time of only 2 min. In this scenario, the diverter valve will not work.

Resolution

To allow the divert valve to work in the above scenario, modify the valve switching time to 0.1 min and 2 min while using the same delay time and total acquisition time. Alternatively, removing the delay time (3 min in this case), and setting the valve switch time as 3 and 5 min will also resolve the issue. In summary, the valve switch time must be within the MS acquisition time.
